Chocolate Martini

A few months ago my book club group read 'The Astronaut Wives Club'. Although I was too busy with my daughter's wedding and didn't actually read the book, I still joined the ladies for our meeting, a much needed reprieve with some awesome gals.  Now, up to this point our meetings included a few shared bottles of wine and delicious food.  This particular gathering, however called for martinis and hors d'oeuvres to bring forth the essence of the era.  At the back of one copy of the book was a recipe for  the 'Mount Marilyn Martini'.  Mount Marilyn is a mountain on the moon that astronaut Jim Lovell named after his wife.

This yummy drink is really tasty, but heavy.  I increased the quantities to accommodate more than one martini.  Here's how you shake this up.

Mount Marilyn Martini

4 oz. vanilla vodka (recipe called for Absolute, which I couldn't find)
2 oz. of white chocolate Godiva liquor
2 oz. of regular chocolate Godiva liquor (or you can use 4oz of just one Godiva flavor)
2 oz. Baileys Irish Creme
2 oz. Kalua
Hershey's chocolate syrup

Rim the inside of your martini glass with chocolate syrup

In a large martini shaker add the other ingredients and some ice.
SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE
Strain into your martini glass and enjoy!
