When my brothers and I were younger (too young to take care of ourselves) and my parents at work, my Gram would be at our house waiting for us to barrel in from a long day of school. She always had something baking; Fresh Bread, Cream Puffs, Eclairs, you name it and Engelbert Humperdinck was spinning on the record player! One of my older brothers was a lover of peanut butter... so, Gram's surprise goodie: Peanut Butter Bread. Between me and my brothers, nothing ever lasted too long in our house.
Although this is not Gram's recipe, I found a comparable one from Paula Deen. It's just how I remembered Grams to be and is
very simple. I spread on some of my homemade strawberry jam....YUMMY!!!!! Or, try it with a little Nutella and a few slices of banana.
Peanut Butter Bread
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
