Look What You Can Do With Scallions!




I love to cook with onions, there are so many kinds and flavors.  Take the scallion for example.  Their mild flavor can be used in soups, salads, dips, you name it.

Here's a scallion tip:  When you buy a bunch, instead of throwing away the root, cut about an inch above the bulb and place it in a small vase of water, roots down.   Not long after, new scallion growth will emerge. Make sure to keep water at the base at all times.   I have a bunch sitting in a bowl in the window.  I cut off what I need when I need it and always have fresh scallions on the ready!!
