I like to have a nice supply of staples in my home so that at any given moment I can whip up a healthy snack. Along with the staple basics of milk, eggs, sugar, flour, etc....I like to have mushrooms. Now, I cannot tell you how many containers of these delicious fungi I have thrown away because they went bad, seemingly from the time I left the grocery to the time I took them out of the grocery bag. Thankfully, however, I found the simple remedy. A brown paper bag! Just take them out of their plastic grocery container, pour them into the bag and keep in the fridge. Do not wash them before you place in the bag, save the rinse until right before you use them.
Thank you little brown paper bag for saving my mushrooms and saving me money!!
you arent supposed to wash mushrooms, You should peel the first layer off the cap instead.
