Faux 'Olive Garden' Dressing

I'm not a big customer of the Olive Garden, mostly because I love to cook.  When my hubby and I do eat out, we go to a place where we can get something that I don't make myself.  Take sushi for example.  I love it, but I am still in the process of learning how to create it, especially the variety of sushi rolls.  I get the concept, have made my favorite (Salmon sushi)...but, ya know,  it doesn't look too pretty.

Back to Olive Garden.  The one specialty of the Olive Garden that my husband and I am in LOVE with is the house salad...the house salad dressing to be exact.  While scrolling through Pinterest, a site I love, especially to find other bloggers and all their tidbits of information, I came accross a recipe for 'The Olive Garden Salad Dressing'.     AHHHHHhhhhhhh!!!!!!   Excitement!!!!!

Let me say, this was an awesome recipe if you like Olive Garden or Italian salad dressing.  Is it exactly like Olive Garden?  I would say it needs minor tweeking, but it was pretty darned close and very delicious!  This recipe makes quite a few servings, but I'm not complaining.

Here's how it goes...

Faux Olive Garden Salad Dressing

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian spices
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 envelopes Good Seasons Italian Dressing, prepared per directions on envelope with white distilled vinegar
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender on high until combined, about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour into small bowl and cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Stir before serving.
  4. **Don’t forget, add your 2 prepared recipes of Italian Dressing from the envelopes (I used Good Seasonings Brand) to this.
*Note:  although the recipe states put 'in a blender', I, at first, put everything into a mason jar and just tried to shake the bejinkers out of it.  Nope...you have to blend it.  Blending creates a very creamy consistency.

Hubby loved it and so did I!!
